  • Dr. Alli Gokeler

    Alli has been a sports physical therapist specialist for 30 years and obtained his PhD in motor control after ACL injury from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands

    The reason to pursue a PhD next to working in a clinic? Well, the interest came from working with patients and the question why things did not always go as I hoped for. For example, I had a patient after an ACL injury and he kept unloading the involved limb. I tried many different things but without success. I wanted to know more about the underlying reasons and most importantly how this could help my patients. That is still my motto for today!

    My passion is to share what I have learned over the years and what I am still learning today. It is my strong belief that clinicians working with injured athletes can improve the outcome of rehabilitation.

  • Dr. Anne Benjaminse

    Anne is a physical therapist and human movement scientist, specialized in sports medicine.

    I experienced an ACL injury myself when I was a teenager. As a physio to be, I was very intrigued by the impact this injury has. I am always eager to learn more, to better understand how people move and how we can optimize movement.

    I therefore pursued a master in Sports Medicine and got my PhD in motor learning in ACL injury prevention from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. I now share my knowledge and practical experiences on a daily basis with (youth) athletes, trainers/coaches, sports physical therapists, policy makers and parents. To successfully implement injury prevention, rehabilitation and performance optimization, I strongly believe in creating this together. I always strive for understanding how athletes move in their own context and how we can improve their movement to optimize performance and reduce injury risk.

    My passion is to stimulate a lifelong healthy participation in sports! And I want to help you with this! Together is better :) In my free time, I’d love to ride my mountain-, city or road bike. Also, I like to put on my running shoes to explore the environment. I get energy from moving!
